Keyontae Johnson released from hospital 10 days after collapsing on court
Florida forward Keyontae Johnson was released from the hospital Tuesday after his terrifying collapse on the court earlier this month.
Johnson’s family announced the news that in a statement on Tuesday morning, and asked for patience regarding his “illness.”

Johnson, 21, collapsed just minutes into a Dec. 12 game against FSU. He was tended to by trainers and had to be stretchered off the court. Johnson was taken to a hospital, and was initially listed in critical, but stable condition.
Johnson’s family provided updates on his status, which gradually improved in the days following the incident. He was eventually upgraded to stable condition, showed “encouraging signs of progress” and recorded an emotional video from the hospital.
The Johnson family said it would keep fans updated on Johnson’s status as he continues his recovery.
The family has not officially shared a cause or diagnosis for Johnson’s collapse, however Zach Abolverdi of the Gainesville Sun reported on Tuesday night that he had been diagnosed with acute myocarditis — a heart condition linked that causes inflammation in the organ.
Johnson is not expected to return this season, according to the Gainesville Sun.
