Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce claim Brian Scalabrine used to be a nasty one-on-one player

It might surprise some of the younger fans of the Boston Celtics to learn that present-day Celtics broadcaster Brian “White Mamba” Scalabrine used to be a pretty nasty 1-on-1 player on the court, or at least so said his former teammates on the Banner 17 squad he won a title with in 2008.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Showtime Basketball “KG Certified” podcast, fellow Boston alumni Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett shared their recollections of the USC alum’s mano a mano game back in the day in a short put together to laud White Mamba’s skills. Astute fans of Scal can recall when he played some fans who did not expect to get their posteriors handed to them if you happen to want evidence with your own eyes.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what the Ticket and the Truth have to say about playing White Mamba one-on-one.
