The intense beef between Carmelo Anthony and Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett that dated to a purported on-court trash-talking incident in a 2013 game sparked a decade-long feud between the two stars.
Tensions rose during a regular-season game, with both players engaging in intense on-court verbal assault. After the game, Anthony attempted to confront KG, which resulted in a media fiesta of coverage of the rumored insult driving the animosity. The story was Garnett had insulted Anthony’s wife, La La, by saying she tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.
The rumor gained widespread attention, even though it was later denied by both players.
