The Golden State Warriors will have to keep winning without Kevin Durant for now. The 30-year-old Durant will not play during Game 2 of the Western Conference finals against the Portland Trail Blazers, Chris Haynes reported.
Durant injured his calf during Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals. He was ruled out for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals due to the injury, and was considered unlikely to play in Game 2.
Durant averaged 26 points and 6.4 rebounds per game with the team during the regular season. He had been a force this postseason before getting hurt. Durant had scored over 40 points in three of the Warriors’ 11 games prior to the injury.
Though they were missing Durant, the Warriors still managed to pull out a win in Game 1 of their series against the Trail Blazers. Stephen Curry carried the load, dropping 36 points on Portland in the 116-94 victory.
