"If you take Kyrie Irving's brain and put it in a bird right now, guess what that bird is gonna do? It's gonna fly backwards," Perkins said Wednesday morning on ESPN's "Get Up" show. "Kyrie, right now, is confused. He's showing his lack of leadership."
When the Instagram account "thescore" posted a different quote from Perkins, Durant responded by saying: "Sell out."

And then KD trolled Perkins by retweeting the video "DrGuru23" posted:
It's all good Perk! Real NBA fans know you were one of the most lethal hoppers back in the day pic.twitter.com/8Pbdw5Am8H— Dr. Guru (@DrGuru23) June 17, 2020
The beef between the two started on Twitter in early January when Perkins made a strong declaration.
It all escalated from there.
Boy stop you did the weakest move in NBA History!!! Up on a team 3-1 in the western conference finals and then go join them the following season?! Heart of Champion right there— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) January 10, 2020
"I probably should have just took the blow that he delivered and just sent him a text and was like, 'Bro, I wasn't coming at you like that,' and just let it be gone," Perkins said on NBC Sports Bay Area's "Runnin' Plays" podcast in late April. "Instead of for me, saying, 'You know what? I'm about to attack you and hit you where it hurt.' And I did shoot some below-the-belt slugs that I wish I wouldn't have done.
"That's why I made my apology public."
Check back soon because surely there will be another layer to this Kyrie-related development in the coming days.
