Warriors star Kevin Durant fired back at an Oklahoma City Thunder fan who criticized him on Twitter Wednesday, but no burner accounts were involved.
Durant, who was caught last year replying to Twitter criticism from a fake account, intentionally responded to OKC fan @mynameis_kayleefrom his real handle, @KDTrey5, as opposed to when he infamously did so accidentally last year.
The fan tweeted the following, calling Durant a “clown.”
Durant, apparently fed up with the stabs at his reputation, actually replied, and the fan’s tweet blew up. “Here’s that clout u ordered. Enjoy,” Durant wrote sarcastically.
R.I.P. her mentions, as the saying goes.
Durant later replied to another critic in the replies to the original tweet, but later deleted that comment, as well another correcting the First Things First tweet saying that he actually direct-messaged Chris Broussard.
This type of interaction seems to be Durant’s signature move in the post-burner account era. Just last week, he deleted a slew of tweets that he wrote in response to a feud with C.J. McCollum.
At least he’s facing critics from his real account – it’s all about baby steps.
