The SEC Tournament may move to a primary spot rather than a rotating cast of cities, Yahoo! Sports reports from the conference meetings in Destin, Fla.
School athletic directors voted unanimously to explore the idea.
Nashville -- which hosted the tournament this year and is scheduled to host in 2015, 2016 and 2019 -- is considered the favorite.
The primary site won't necessarily be an exclusive site, Mike Slive said.
Since 2000, the SEC tourney has been in Atlanta seven times, Nashville four times, New Orleans twice and Tampa once.
But Bridgestone Arena has emerged as a recent favorite because of its smaller size (easier to fill) than the Georgia Dome, which has had some trouble reaching capacity in recent years.
Rupp Arena has hosted three times (1993, 1986, 1982) but likely wouldn't be considered.
