Randall Cobb has always been a returner. Kickoffs, punts, now classes.
The former UK wide receiver has come back to campus to finish up his degree, UK confirmed yesterday. When he left UK after his junior season to jump to the NFL, he was listed as a community communications and leadership developments major.
Cobb led the Green Bay Packers last season with 80 catches for 954 yards. He had eight receiving touchdowns and 132 rushing yards on just 13 carries. He also had 964 yards on kickoff returns and a punt return for a touchdown.
He led the NFL with 2,343 all-purpose yards last season. That's the 22nd most by any player in a single season in NFL history.
We're still a little fuzzy on the details because Cobb is declining to speak to the media about finishing up his classwork. We're not sure if he's working out at the Nutter Center, or how long it will take for him to graduate.
We'll keep trying to speak with him. But if you see a guy decked out with Green Bay gear around campus, you might want to look twice.
