Kyle Wiltjer is one of 16 players trying out for Canada's national team in the World University Games.
"We all know what his skill set is. He has to take his defense and all those areas of his game to another level, which I think he will," John Calipari said earlier this summer. "My hope is he makes the national team, the Canadian national team, and then takes his game to another level."
Wiltjer is one of six forwards on the training camp roster, along with Murphy Burnatowski (Colgate), Owen Klassen (Acadia), Daniel Mullings (New Mexico State), Dwight Powell (Stanford) and Thomas Scrubb (Carletown).
The team will be trying out in Portland, Ore. Those who make it will play in Kazan, Russia from July 6 to 17.
