In a lengthy video on the merits of his High Performance program, Erik Korem said the team is focusing on adding to their maximum speed and power by changing their bodies.
In the spring alone, Korem said, Kentucky's players changed a lot as a collective.
"We lost 560 pounds of fat and gained 260 pounds of muscle," Korem said. "And that was just short-term. Now obviously we didn't want to have to lose 560 pounds of fat, but we did. We had to get that done."
560 pounds of fat is about 2 million calories -- or, to put it in food perspectives, the caloric equivalent of about 5,000 McDoubles.
So, well done, team.
