Sporting News' Mike DeCourcy ranked his top 10 point guards in college basketball, and he projects John Calipari's point guard will be back among the nation's elite after a frustrating year at that position.
Andrew Harrison was ranked No. 2, behind only Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart and ahead of Indiana's Yogi Ferrell, Louisville's Chris Jones and Ohio State's Aaron Craft, among others.
Harrison was the only freshman to make the list.
Here's what DeCourcy had to say in his article:
It would be disingenuous to ignore the buzz that Harrison and his brother might be difficult teammates, but it would be downright foolish to ignore that coach John Calipari has resolved far more difficult circumstances. (He got DeMarcus Cousins to focus on winning. Any questions?) Harrison is an elite talent who’ll be surrounded by elite talent. One of the few real questions in where to rank him is how much of the glory will be directed his way.
That chemistry issue will one tossed about a lot, and it will only be dispelled once the games get going and the Harrisons prove they're not troublesome. But Harrison is indeed an elite talent, the type of point guard that Calipari loves, and he will have plenty of opportunities to showcase himself when on the floor with a host of other talented players.
