New Kensington-Arnold teachers set to go on strike starting Monday

The New Kensington-Arnold Education Association announced teachers will go on strike starting on Monday, if the union and school leaders cannot agree to a new contract this weekend.

The teachers have been working without a contract since August, and haven’t been able to come to an agreement, so they gave the administration a formal strike notice.

The association said the last thing they want to do is strike, but said they’ve been at the negotiating table since December 2020. The only stipulation is healthcare premiums.
