Former Tennessee basketball player Kennedy Chandler will play for the Grizzlies this summer.

Chandler, a native of Cordova, Tennessee, played for the Vols during the 2021-22 season.

He was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference standout and a member of the conference’s all-freshmen team.

Chandler was the 2022 SEC Tournament most valuable player. Tennessee won its first tournament championship since 1979.

He was selected in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft by San Antonio (No. 38 overall) and traded to Memphis.

Memphis will begin play in the NBA’s Salt Lake City summer league Tuesday.

The Grizzlies will play Philadelphia and former Vol Jaden Springer at 7 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised by ESPN.
