  • Lana Del Rey posted video footage of people looting businesses to her Instagram feed.

  • Kehlani and Tinashe asked Lana on Twitter if she could remove the post from her page because it endangers those who were part of the looting.

America feels like it's divided and in shambles right now, and that’s a massive understatement. Following the killing of George Floyd—as well as the wrongful killings of other innocent Black people, like Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and Brianna Hillprotests have taken the country by storm and have left some celebrities voicing their opinions. Lana Del Rey is no exception.

On Instagram, Lana posted two videos—one of a Black man standing on top of a burning car holding up a sign that reads “NO JUSTICE NO PEACE,” another of a group of people looting stores and escaping with merchandise. After Lana posted the latter, Kehlani hopped on Twitter and asked her to take the video down.

“@LanaDelRey please remove your Instagram post it’s dangerous as f*ck and a very poor choice of moments to post. By all means protest, but DO NOT endanger people with your very massive platform. Oh and turn your f*ckin comments on man,” Kehlani wrote, adding that her choosing to call Lana out is “about furthering endangering the lives of Black people. It’s about responsibility.”

Tinashe also chimed in and asked Lana to take down the Instagram post. “@LanaDelRey why the f*ck are you posting people looting stores on your page literally WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM,” she wrote.

Tinashe later thanked Lana for removing the post.

Kehlani, on the other hand, simply deleted the tweet after Lana took the looting video down.
