Sep. 19—DALLAS — WKU's Katie Erwin, along with Sam Houston's Andrea Nugent and Savannah Hall, earned Conference USA Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors, presented by Blenders Eyewear.

Erwin earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after she logged a brace on Thursday to lead the Lady Toppers (2-2-5, 1-0-0 CUSA) to a 3-0 shutout of rival MTSU to open CUSA play.

The Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, Nugent and Hall helped the Bearkats (3-3-2, 1-0-0 CUSA) to a win in their CUSA debut — a 2-0 shutout of Jacksonville State.

Offensive Player of the Week — Katie Erwin, WKU — Graduate Student — Louisville, Ky.

Erwin doubled her goal tally for the year with a pair of scores, including the gamewinner, in a 3-0 rivalry win over MTSU on Thursday. Her first goal came in the 12th minute when Sydney Ernst's cross found Erwin, who sent it to the back of the net. Erwin scored again in the 28th minute when she finished off a ball in the box from Olivia Cooke.

Defensive Player of the Week — Andrea Nugent, Sam Houston — Graduate — Oak Hills, Calif.

Nugent helped lead a defensive front that posted its second consecutive shutout in a 2-0 victory over Jacksonville State on Sunday. The Bearkats allowed just four shots on goal on 13 total attempts. She assisted on the second goal of the match with a ball played ahead to Pam Murray, who chipped it over the keeper to make it 2-0 in the 64th minute.

Goalkeeper of the Week — Savannah Hall, Sam Houston — Senior — Rockwall, Texas

Hall recorded her second consecutive clean sheet and finished with four saves in a 2-0 win over Jacksonville State. She made a pair of stops in each half, including two in the final 11 minutes of the match as the Gamecocks attempted to climb back from a 2-0 deficit. Over her last five matches, Hall owns a .852 save percentage and is averaging 4.6 stops per game.
