Kat Von D reveals she had 2 miscarriages after sharing intimate breastfeeding video
Though her views on vaccinations have sparked outcry, Kat Von D seems committed to embracing the all-natural mama lifestyle. On Sunday, the tattoo artist and beauty brand founder posted a video which shows her going makeup-free while breastfeeding infant son Leafar out in the sun and extolling the virtues of vitamin D on the baby.

Aside from a handful of comments chiding her for exposing her baby to direct sunlight, the 36-year-old makeup guru was largely praised by her followers for promoting breastfeeding.
“Thanks for sharing and helping to normalize what is most natural!” read one comment.
“Aww you look [like] a beautiful natural mum!” added a fan.
“He’s gorgeous and obviously thriving,” another follower wrote. “It’s great to see a celebrity and a mum at ease with breastfeeding and letting others see you do it. A great example for mums to-be [and] new mums who physically can breastfeed.”
One commenter’s reaction included a deeply personal confession.
“I may never be able to have a baby (I’ve miscarried twice) but seeing this is beautiful and makes me cry happy tears,” one woman wrote, prompting Von D to share her own story.
“I miscarried twice before we had Baby Leafar,” the reality star, who gave birth on Nov. 29, wrote back. “Never say never!”
It’s the first time Von D, who married husband Rafael Reyes (also known as Leafar Seyer) last February, has publicly spoken of her fertility struggles. Fans reacted to her intimate post by thanking her for opening up and sharing their own experiences with pregnancy loss.
“Never knew you miscarried,” one commenter responded. “I’m so sorry and so happy Baby Leafar changed your lives for the better. Thank you for sharing that with us.”
Von D’s parenting posts have raised eyebrows in the past. The new mom’s admission that she was reluctant to vaccinate her infant was met with outrage, and she continues to receive criticism over her stance.
