CHAPEL HILL – UNC offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Chris Kapilovic met with the media after practice Tuesday to discuss mainly his line, the injury situation, how they played versus Duke, and the possibility of redshirts coming off a player or two.

Here are some notes form what Kap had to say:

*Graduate center Cam Dillard was quite banged up playing Saturday versus Duke. Kap counted eight times Dillard was on the ground, which is more than the norm for him, and it was clear his explosiveness and drive were affected by the high ankle sprain he suffered versus Louisville.

*Kap said offensive tackle Bentley Spain was probably 70 percent and really only could use one hand. But he was proud both players gave it a go.

“It was great to have those guys out there, but on film they weren’t the guys they have been,” he said.

*Two true freshmen offensive linemen are with the regulars at practice and also travel and dress for road games just in case they are needed. Those two players are Marcus McKethan and Brian Anderson.

“They’re getting closer,” Kapilovic said. “You don’t want to do it for a couple of reasons: I don’t think they’re ready yet; and you also don’t want to burn a shirt if we think we’re going to get some guys back… Now, if you think you’re going to lose some guys for the year, that will change things.”

Jordan Tucker was one of the two true freshmen OL Kap kept with the regulars until he got hurt. But, he’s getting healthy and may resume that spot in place of Anderson.
