Nurkic packs a mean punch in Lillard-esque offseason workout originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

We all know by now that Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard loves to show off his workouts in the offseason.

Especially when it is involves boxing - which Lillard has been a fan of the sport for most of his life.

This offseason, Lillard has been seen in the lab once again with his longtime trainer, Coach Cem, putting some serious work in with the boxing gloves.

Lillard is usually by himself when it comes to his boxing workouts. But this time, it seems he has brought a familiar face to the boxing world.

Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic posted a video of himself on Instagram showing off his quick hands, uppercut skills and some fun with Lillard’s trainer.

Nurkic even added a Muhammad Ali-like caption to his post saying: “I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my bedroom and was in bed before the room was dark.”

Ali’s quote says hotel room, not the bedroom, but captioning some type of Ali reference while boxing is almost mandatory if we are being honest.

Besides the boxing side of the workouts, it seems Nurkic has decided to make Lillard's trainer his own. Coach Cem and Nurkic have been on Instagram lately showing off the workouts to the world.

The Blazers were knocked out of the NBA bubble in the playoffs by the Los Angels Lakers in the first round. Not exactly how the Blazers wanted to end the season, but the Lakers did go on to win the NBA championship. They played well, just not well enough.

The upcoming NBA season will be here sooner than normal this year with the new CBA agreement to start the season on Dec.22.

As Lillard and Nurkic continue to workout to prepare for the NBA season, expect those two to lead the Blazers full steam ahead when the season gets up and running again.
