Justin Tucker misses rare field goal in 4th quarter of Wild Card game originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Justin Tucker is one of the best kickers in NFL history, and considered the consensus best in the game right now. That makes it truly stunning whenever he misses a kick of any kind, let alone one in a clutch situation.

The Ravens' veteran has kicked big field goals in plenty of high-pressure situations, but he missed a potentially-important one Sunday in Tennessee.

The Ravens had a decent fourth-quarter drive to get into Tucker's usual range, eventually being forced to settle for a 52 attempt by Tucker. But instead of splitting the uprights like he has on so many previous occasions, Tucker missed wide right by a matter of inches.

It speaks to Tucker's long term excellence that fans and media alike were so shocked by the miss, even for a kick beyond 50 yards - not easy for any kicker in any era. But Tucker isn't just any kicker, and this was just the second miss in his postseason career.

It was also notably windy in Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

The Ravens continued to show trust in Tucker, sending him out on the field for a 51-yard attempt on the very next possession. And as he has done so many times, he nailed that one to extend the Ravens' lead with under five minutes to go.
