Junior Hockey: Late goal sinks Willmar WarHawks on the road
Nov. 5—WAUSAU, Wis. — An Anderson Brien goal late in the third period was the difference in the Wausau Cyclones' victory over the Willmar WarHawks on Saturday.
Brien scored the game-winner with 2 minutes, 33 seconds left to play in a 2-1 NA3HL victory at Marathon Park. It was Brien's sixth goal of the season. He is a 5-foot-11, 150-pound forward from Atlanta.
Down 1-0 in the second period, the WarHawks tied the game when Scott Woltman tallied his third goal of the season at 15:12. Jordan Fields was credited with an assist on the play. Woltman is a 5-8, 168-pound forward from Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Fields is a 6-0, 195-pound forward from Detroit Lakes.
Willmar faces off with the Granite City Lumberjacks at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Sports Arena East in Sauk Rapids.
