The Cyclones offered a Class of 2019 standout from the Lone Star State this week, who will finally get to play the first game of his senior season tonight.

Alvin (Texas) junior cornerback Marques Caldwell said he had just started hearing from the Cyclones when assistant coach Lou Ayeni got in contact.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Caldwell, who also has a Power-5 offer from Oregon, said he’s researched ISU and is impressed.

To say it’s been a rough few weeks for Caldwell and the Alvin community would be understating things. Hurricane Harvey pushed the 2017 season back a few weeks, as Caldwell and his teammates helped clean up the facilities around Alvin High School. They will open the season tonight against Fort Bend Austin.

For more on Caldwell's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
