MATT HARMON: It feels like the big, awesome years for JuJu Smith-Schuster are about 100 years in the past at this point, but it wasn't that long ago that he was an awesome fantasy producer. I know this sounds like a hot take, but if you squint at JuJu, you can kind of see like a this year's Cooper Kupp potential outlook in his range of outcomes. You know, Kupp was a guy that last year, everybody's got him as like a clear cut top 10 receiver this year on fantasy rankings, real life NFL rankings, but nobody was talking about Cooper Kupp as that type of guy coming into last year, but he did have a proven resume.
He was going in the middle rounds, and he fits that big slot receiver archetype that JuJu has been throughout his career and probably stays in Kansas City this year. And we know that Cooper Kupp got a massive upgrade at quarterback going from Jared Goff to Matthew Stafford. I mean, going from the husk of Big Ben to Patrick Mahomes is like a galaxies bigger upgrade for JuJu Smith-Schuster. So as long as we continue to get camp reports showing that he's for sure locked in as one of the top starting receivers here for Kansas City, I think I'm going to be in on drafting JuJu for the first time in several years.
Just keep an eye on those camp battles between him and MVS who did get a pretty decent deal, strangely enough, from Kansas City. Skyy Moore, a rookie that I really like, and Mecole Hardman is still kicking around, too. Right now I've got JuJu projected for 86 catches, just over 1,000 yards, and he's my wide receiver 29. I really do like his ADP this year.
