Manchester United are during their worst start to a league season in 29 years. In the shock 3-1 defeat at West Ham over the weekend, the players were not running off the ball, and definitely lacked the hunger of prospective champions.
As such, Jose Mourinho has received plenty of criticism. And, to be fair, much of this criticism is well-placed. However, the Special One is not truly to blame—he is merely a symptom of a greater problem that relates to a lack of planning from the club’s owners and upper hierarchy.
