John Wall hasn't played a game since December of 2018, but his speed still commands the respect of his fellow NBA stars.
He chose LeBron James for his passing, strength and basketball IQ, Steph Curry for his three-point stroke, Kawhi Leonard for defense, and Kyrie Irving's handles. When it came to speed, DeRozan went with Wall.
Since he entered the league, Wall has been the NBA's premiere speed demon. He has the ability to take a miss off the rim and put incredible pressure on an opposing defense pushing the break. Sometimes he doesn't even need a miss to create a transition opportunity.
Wall missed the entirety of the 2019-20 regular season recovering from an Achilles injury, an ailment that has routinely diminished its victims' athleticism after their return. If you ask anyone who's seen Wall's progress coming back, they'll tell you the speed is still there.
