Morant wanted Wall to do the Dougie in return to DC originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Before his first game in front of Wizards fans in 2010, No. 1 overall pick John Wall did "The Dougie" during pregame intros.

Not only was it a meme-able moment for Wall, but the move took on a life of its own after he put up 29 points, 13 assists and nine (!!) steals in a win. It was his "I'm here" game and it all started with the dance.

With all eyes on Wall's return to Washington on Monday night, Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was hoping to see Wall break out the same dance in pregame intros he did as a rookie.

Wall didn't end up doing it in pregame intros, but we at least know he saw Morant's request.

Wall made countless memories playing in Washington throughout the first 10 years of his career. And now as a member of the Rockets, he has a chance to do it again in a different uniform.

Tune in to NBC Sports Washington for full coverage of John Wall's return to D.C. at 7 p.m. ET.
