Joey Porter Sr. hypes up his son after he fell out of the first round of the draft

One of the biggest surprises of the first round of the 2023 NFL draft was the fact that former Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. wasn’t selected. Many pundits had Porter targeted to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round at pick No. 17.

But Porter didn’t get taken in the first round and the cameras caught him and his dad, Steelers legend Joey Porter Sr. talking about it. Porter Sr. have his son a pep talk to keep him motivated and to remind him about where he should have been taken.

Porter Jr. was one of three prospects invited to the draft in Kansas City who were not chosen on the first day. Porter didn’t stay for the second day but ended up being the first pick on Friday and landed with the Steelers.

With Porter Jr. as pick No. 32 he was in essence a first-round choice but if this makes him play a little harder, so be it.
