Joel Embiid can make anyone look small.
So this is no slight against Jose Altuve.
In fact, it just makes all of Altuve's accomplishments that much more incredible.
Before both being honored during the Sports Illustrated 2017 Sportsperson of the Year Awards on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center, Embiid and Altuve posed for pictures alongside J.J. Watt and Carlos Beltran.
It's an impressive group of individuals, but what also made the picture so great was Embiid standing right next to Altuve. Embiid, as we all know, is 7-foot-2 and no less than 250 pounds. Altuve, the hit machine and second baseman for the World Series-winning Astros, is 5-foot-6 and 165 pounds.
Embiid, with his massive stature, makes Altuve practically look like a jockey. The Sixers' big man even makes Watt, the Texans' 6-foot-5, 295-pound defensive end, look like a normal-sized human being.
Altuve and Watt were honored as SI's 2017 Sportspersons of the Year, while Embiid was named Rising Star of the Year and took in the night with his mother Christine.

It was a touching night for Altuve, Watt and the city of Houston ... and it also made for a pretty cool picture.
