Joel Embiid sits in stands with young fan as 76ers take down Wizards

Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid decided to watch Tuesday’s game from a different angle. With the 76ers comfortably ahead, Embiid decided to ditch the team’s bench in favor of enjoying the game from the stands.

He made sure to enjoy the contest while hanging out with a young fan.

Embiid’s actions came during the 76ers’ 132-115 win over the Washington Wizards. He put in a fair amount of work on the court before heading to the stands. Embiid scored 20 points and picked up 10 rebounds during the contest.

Embiid didn’t have the honor of leading the team in scoring, however. That went to rookie Landry Shamet, who drained eight threes on his way to scoring 29 points. Embiid let Shamet know he was impressed during the game by checking the rookie’s temperature.

The 76ers will leave Philadelphia to take on the Wizards in D.C. on Wednesday. Given how much the Wizards have struggled this season, Embiid could pull the same stunt and still get cheered by Wizards fans.
