Joel Embiid will play for Sixers vs. Nets, first matchup vs. Ben Simmons

The NBA world will finally get their Joel Embiid vs. Ben Simmons matchup on Wednesday night in South Philadelphia. The 76ers will play host to the Brooklyn Nets and, after being listed as questionable for the matchup with left foot soreness, Embiid will play.

The big fella has been dealing with the foot issue and he sat out of Philadelphia’s latest matchup, a win over the Sacramento Kings on the road. He also sat out of the first matchup for the Sixers against the Nets back on Nov. 22 due to an injury.

Now, he will get his first chance to face Simmons since the deadline trade in 2022. Embiid and Simmons were the faces of the Sixers for four straight seasons before things went sour in the summer of 2021.

This will be a big matchup for Philadelphia as they continue to move forward with their title quest in the 2022-23 season. Tipoff from the Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
