Joe Burrow shares short message on Instagram following season-ending injury
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn't letting his season-ending wrist injury get him down.
After speaking to reporters Friday about the torn ligament in his right wrist, the franchise star posted a photo and short message on Instagram.
"Just another stage on the journey of life," Burrow captioned a photo of himself from the Bengals' Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fans voiced their support for the 26-year-old in the post's comments.
"Feel better Joe we love you," one Instagram user wrote.
"The comeback will be greater than the setback," another commented.
Burrow injured his right wrist during a second-quarter play, and was ruled out from returning to the game in the third quarter. He was hit by Ravens' Jadeveon Clowney, and said Friday he felt a "pop" while throwing a touchdown pass to Joe Mixon.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Friday that Burrow's injury might require surgery.
“It’s tough,” Burrow said during Friday's press conference. “You work so hard for seasons and moments like these so whenever you get hurt and it ends it early, it’s tough to handle. But that’s part of the game, been through it before. Gotta grind it out.”
