There is possibly no better way to play to a city scorned.
New Orleans still steamed over missed call
Few officiating controversies in American sports have drawn the attention and the ire that the missed pass interference call in the waning moments of the NFC championship that likely cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl.
Buffett, who sang the national anthem prior to the infamous championship game against the Los Angeles Rams, let the New Orleans faithful know he’s got their back.
After gaining the adoration of the crowd, Buffett had his cheerleading assistants strip him of his uniform into his standard beach-going attire before breaking into his set.

Well played, Jimmy.
Some suggest that New Orleans is holding on too tight to the grudge and should just let it go. But getting jobbed out of a Super Bowl is a big deal.
While the healthy thing is probably to move on, it’s really hard to blame them for still being mad.
