Jimmies soccer teams get rain-soaked wins over Dakota Wesleyan
Oct. 26—JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown men's soccer team ended their losing streak in a big way as they fought back from a two-goal deficit to get a 3-2 win over Dakota Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium.
The Tigers (7-7-1, 3-6-1) opened the scoring when they won a free kick from just outside the box and Vladislav Burkov took a shot that was spilled by the Jimmies keeper Matt English and right through his legs to make it 1-0 with 25:40 to go in the first half. The Tigers added another one in the opening half to go up 2-0.
Early in the second half, the Jimmies (3-9-4, 2-5-3) opened the scoring when Daniel Aburto scored to make it 1-0. The score stayed that way until the 59th minute when Joel Hyland intercepted a ball and took it in on goal and slotted it home to tie the game up at two. The Jimmies would keep pushing and in the 72nd minute, the Jimmies took a shot that was spilled by the goalie Hunter Birozy right to Aburto who scored to push his team in front 3-2.
The Jimmies are back in action at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, when they take on Briar Cliff University.'

The University of Jamestown women's soccer team outshot the Tigers 17-4 in a 1-0 win over the Tigers on Oct. 25.
The game's only goal came from the Jimmies' (5-7-3, 5-4-2) Miarosa Gyllenswan scored to make it 1-0 in the 55th minute. In the second half, the Jimmies outshot the Tigers (6-8-1, 5-5-1) 10-1 in the second half.
Out of the Jimmies' five wins this year, four have been shutout wins.
The Jimmies are back in action at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, when they take on Briar Cliff.
