Jimbo Fisher announces medical retirements of two Aggies

·1 min read

With fall training camp opening up Wednesday, the A&M athletic department released the official 2022 football roster, and it didn’t take long before it became obvious that a couple of unexpected names were missing.

In head coach Jimbo Fisher’s first press conference, he announced that those two guys, wide receiver Hezekiah Jones, and defensive end Donell Harris, had medically retired from the program.

Jones, a graduate student who missed all of 2021 with a shoulder injury, had 35 catches for 325 yards in his career coming into 2022 was going to be looked to as a veteran leader in a wide receiver room with some big time talent.

Harris, a red shirt sophomore and former 5-star recruit seemed primed to have a breakout season in a big role on the Aggies defensive front in 2022.

Best of luck to Hezekiah and Donell in the next chapters of their lives.
