Jim Lynam in an early-'80s car commercial is a gem originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
NBC Sports Philadelphia analyst Jim Lynam has been around the block a few times.
Back in his first season as an NBA coach, he was apparently getting around in a 1982 Honda Accord, and enthusiastic about that choice of vehicle.
Twitter account @NBACobwebs unearthed this gem of Lynam in his first stint with the Trail Blazers.
Former Blazers assistant coach Jim Lynam sure seemed like a big fan of the 1982 Honda Accord.

Lynam's Philly accent must have been quite distinct in the Northwest. The whole commercial is fascinating, from beginning with a car in the middle of a basketball court to the zoom into Lynam's face in the driver's side mirror. A lot of interesting choices.
After his first NBA experience with the Blazers, Lynam coached for four more franchises. He also returned to Portland to join Maurice Cheeks' staff from 2001-05. We imagine he'd switched up his car by that point, although "performance and comfort" are tremendously sensible priorities for any vehicle.
