Jim Harbaugh updates Donovan Edwards’ injury status heading into Week 5

Michigan football hasn’t had the same kind of luck when it comes to injuries as it had in 2021, with several key players missing time early in 2022.

Though he’s dressed for multiple games, linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green has yet to play a single snap after enduring what head coach Jim Harbaugh called a ‘soft-tissue’ injury in the preseason, left guard Trevor Keegan left the game in Week 2 and hasn’t returned, running back Donovan Edwards was injured in Week 2, as well, and has been dressed in street clothes the past two games, and quarterback Cade McNamara suffered a leg injury in Week 3 and is out for several weeks. Tight end Erick All suffered an undisclosed injury at an undisclosed time, and has been the subject of rumors regarding the severity of his ailment.

On Monday evening, Harbaugh updated the status of just one player, running back Donovan Edwards, heading into the Week 5 contest at Iowa.

“It’s possible Donovan will be back this weekend,” Harbaugh said.

It’s tough to go up against a team of the caliber of Iowa short-handed, and we’ll see how the maize and blue handle the expected adversity. If Edwards returns, it would be a big help in both the run and pass game. But it’s unclear if any others will suit up in Iowa City.

The Wolverines and Hawkeyes will kick off at noon EDT with the game to be broadcast nationally on Fox.
