JHS Tennis outguns opponents in Bryan Rudder Tournament

Mar. 25—BRYAN, Texas — Jacksonville Tribe Tennis made the most of its visit to the Brazos Valley Friday by recording four top-three performances.

With the spring season at the half-way point, it was the Tribe's strongest showing as a team for the season.

Jacksonville's girls dominated play in the Girl's Singles Division where Lilian Zavala came home with the gold medal while Gracie Webb finished as the runner-up.

Felipe Ortega and Diesel Theil teamed up to win first place in Boy's Doubles.

In Mixed Doubles, the Tribe duo of Dianna Cornejo and Jose Mesa finished in third place.

Head coach David Hanna's team capped off the day by watching Texas A&M's women's tennis team blank Vanderbilt, 7-0, in Southeastern Conference play.

The Tribe's next tournament is scheduled for April 5 at Kilgore High School.
