JHS Soccer: Tribe prepare to host Henderson in bi-district playoff round

Mar. 18—For the second-consecutive year the Jacksonville Tribe and the Henderson Lions will do battle in the Class 4A, Region II boy's soccer bi-district playoffs.

According to Jacksonville head coach Rudy Jaramillo, the exact day and time are to be announced.

Jacksonville knocked off Henderson, 4-1, last season in the first round in route to becoming a regional finalist.

The Tribe (19-4-1, 13-1) will be representing District 16-4A as its district champion while Henderson is the fourth-place team out of District 15-4A. Henderson is scheduled to take on Tenaha in conference play Tuesday, but regardless of the outcome of the match, the Lions will be facing the Tribe early next week at The Historic Tomato Bowl.

At 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jacksonville will host Tyler High in a playoff warm-up match.

On a side note, Jaramillo, who is a graduate of Jacksonville High School, needs two wins to reach the 150-career win mark as a head coach.
