Jamison Crowder has a shot to play Week 1 vs. the Panthers. Literally.

The Jets slot receiver is considered day-to-day on the COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus last week. However, Crowder is vaccinated, according to Robert Saleh. That means Crowder has a chance of playing Sunday if he clears symptoms and tests negative twice 24 hours apart.

Saleh added that the veteran’s positive test was an isolated incident and that the Jets are not dealing with other COVID-related issues.

“Everybody already came back and tested, so we’ve already cleared that hurdle,” Saleh said Monday following an off weekend that saw players travel. “So we’re not anticipating that as of now.”

The Panthers, meanwhile, were dealt a COVID-19 blow on Monday. Carolina’s starting right guard, John Miller, was placed on the COVID list. That jeopardizes his chances of playing against the Jets on Sept. 12.

Back in New York, LT Mekhi Becton is practicing again. He is expected to officially clear concussion protocol on Tuesday. RB La’Mical Perine (foot) is day-to-day. RB Josh Adams was signed from the practice squad to the active roster to replace Perine.
