The Jets have signed former Lions linebacker Jarrad Davis to a one-year, $7 million contract, SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano confirms.

The 21st overall pick in 2017 saw less and less playing time in Detroit as his four years there progressed. After starting 14 games in his rookie season and all 16 contests in 2018, injuries limited Davis to 11 games in 2019.

Last season, Davis appeared in 14 games, but made just four starts. He saw the field for just 29 percent of the Lions’ defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Reference. After making 196 combined tackles and 8 sacks in his first two seasons, Davis had 109 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks between 2019 and 2020.
