Jets QB Zach Wilson suffers knee injury in loss to Patriots

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson left Sunday's blowout loss against the New England Patriots with a right knee injury and didn't return.

The rookie signal-caller was slow to get up after a hit by linebacker Matthew Judon after a pass in the second quarter.

He eventually walked to a sideline medical tent, but was replaced by Mike White on New York's next play. White remained in the game as the Jets scored a touchdown on the possession while Wilson walked to the New York locker room.

The Jets later announced that Wilson suffered a right knee injury and was questionable to return. They ruled him out after halftime.

Wilson told reporters after the game that the team believes he might have suffered a PCL injury, but that that further testing was needed.

"That’s the best-case scenario,” Wilson said.

He told reporters that he felt a pop in his knee, and that it felt loose and unstable. He didn't speculate on a prognosis.

"We're not sure yet," Wilson continued. "We're hoping to get more details tomorrow when we get the MRI."

Wilson, the No. 2 pick in April's NFL draft, was 6-of-10 for 51 yards when he left the game as the Jets trailed, 17-0 early in the second quarter. They eventually lost, 54-13.

White, 26, was a fifth-round draft pick out of Western Kentucky by the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. Sunday marked his first appearance in an NFL game.
