Jets name Mike White their Week 10 starting QB vs. Bills

Mike White will get at least one more shot with the Jets.

The 26-year-old will be New York’s starting quarterback against the Bills this Sunday, according to Robert Saleh. White has started New York’s last two games with Zach Wilson recovering from a PCL sprain.

Wilson is practicing this week, but he suffered his knee injury in Week 7. His initial timetable was 2-4 weeks, and Saleh stated Monday that the Jets wouldn’t rush the rookie back into game action.

“If he’s not fully healthy, it would be irresponsible for us to throw him out there,” Saleh said.

White, meanwhile, has fared well under center after waiting four years to throw his first NFL pass. He looked a bit out of sorts in his debut, a Week 7 relief appearance against the Patriots. But his 405-yard, three-touchdown, first-ever NFL start shocked the Bengals and delivered an upset win in Week 8.

White threw a touchdown against the Colts in Week 9 before leaving with a minor forearm injury. But he too will practice this week, as expected. He’ll lead New York’s offense while doing so.

How long that remains the case after Week 10 remains to be seen, but the Jets finally know who their starter will be against Buffalo.
