Jets rookie LT Mekhi Becton left Sunday's game against the New England Patriots and headed to the locker room in the third quarter with an ankle injury. He did not return to the game.

Becton has improved over the course of the season, proving why he was worth the No. 11 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. After the game, head coach Adam Gase gave an update on the Louisville product's status.

"Just an update on the injuries," Gase said. "(Denzel) Mims went out with a concussion. (Mekhi) Becton went out with an ankle. Jeff Smith went out with a shoulder. That’s the injuries."

He was replaced by OT Conor McDermott. The 28-year-old out of UCLA was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
