The Jets could be potentially be getting Sam Darnold back for their Week 7 matchup with the Bills, as Adam Gase said the third-year quarterback cleared an important hurdle on Wednesday, and will practice Thursday.

"[Darnold] looked good. From what he's saying right now, he feels good coming into practice today," Gase told reporters ahead of Thursday's practice.

Gase said he'll be monitoring Darnold's velocity, especially on third down, as he evaluates Darnold's readiness to return to the starting lineup.

Gase added "didn't see any discomfort" from Darnold, but "I'm sure there was. He's probably trying to hide it a little bit."

The QB is showing signs of a true pro that wants to get back on the field with his team.
