Jerry Jones wants Odell Beckham Jr. on the Cowboys I The Rush

Jerry Jones has made his interest in signing Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cowboys crystal clear, former Packers QB Brett Favre is in hot water again, and Bryant University beat a Division III school by over 100 points.

Video Transcript

JERRY JONES: Odell is someone that we have all the appreciation in the world for what he is as a competitor. And I know that the Cowboy star on that helmet when he puts it on could look pretty good.

JARED QUAY: That was Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones just casually dropping a not so subtle hint that he wants Odell Beckham Jr. on his team.

- And I want what I want.

JARED QUAY: They know. Jones said, "when Odell puts that Cowboy helmet on," not "if." OBJ is rehabbing a torn ACL that he suffered in the Super Bowl last year. Reports have come out that Odell may be fully cleared to return to football activities within the next week. At 6 and 2, the Cowboys are looking--

- Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

JARED QUAY: But they share a division with the undefeated Eagles and the upstart Giants. So Jerry has to be thinking, adding a star like OBJ could be a real difference maker. Plus, you don't want somebody like the 49ers or the Bucs grabbing OBJ and laughing their way to the Super Bowl.

- I would say.

JARED QUAY: How much trouble can one ex-quarterback get into?

- I don't know. A lot.

JARED QUAY: How much that is, Bradford keeps testing the limits. According to an ESPN report, far back to drug companies financially that reportedly overstated the effectiveness of their concussion drugs and their connections with the NFL.

- Does it ever stop?

JARED QUAY: Not quite. Remember the Mississippi nonprofit Favre was using to help fund a volleyball stadium at his daughter's college. Favre helped the owner of those two drug companies get $2 million in funding from that same Mississippi welfare money.

- Oh, come on.

JARED QUAY: I know. Taking money from those who need it and giving it to your rich friend so he can lie about his drugs is just so dumb. I wish they do better, Favre, but that kind of feels useless at this point.

College basketball is back, baby, and Bryant University came out blazing hot, beating a Division III school, Thomas College, by 108 points.

- [? Don't ?] stop now.

JARED QUAY: Is that a typo? Talk about running up the score.

- I never felt like I stopped playing hard. That's what we do. We're tough, we're physical, we're mean, we're nasty, we're competitive. We'll always going to be that, whether we're playing Thomas, we're playing Kentucky, we're playing-- it doesn't really matter.

JARED QUAY: I guess. I don't know. Beating somebody by 108 points is just flat out excessive. Like, there needs to be a mercy rule or something. As soon as someone goes up by 70 points, that's it call game.
