Jere Vaisanen brings home another CCHA weekly honor to Bemidji State

Feb. 19—BEMIDJI — After helping the Bemidji State men's hockey team to a five-point weekend over Ferris State, junior forward Jere Vaisanen has been named the CCHA Forward of the Week, announced by the league Monday afternoon.

Vaisanen led the Beavers to their second consecutive five-point weekend by recording three points off two goals and an assist. He began the series by scoring a goal and adding an assist for his second multi-point effort of the season on Thursday night, including assisting on the game-winning goal in overtime.

The Espoo, Finland native then followed by scoring the Beavers' fourth goal in their 4-1 victory Friday night to complete the series sweep over the Bulldogs. He finished the weekend with a plus-2 rating on the ice and took three shots on goal.

This is the second career weekly nod for Vaisanen and the first since being named the CCHA Rookie of the Week during the 2021-22 season.

Vaisanen is joined by Lake Superior State's Jack Blanchett (Defenseman) and Bowling Green's Cole Moore (Goaltender and Ben Doran (Rookie) as CCHA weekly honorees.
