Jennifer Lawrence Took Over an Airplane Loud Speaker to Do a Philadelphia Eagles Chant

So much happened on Super Bowl Sunday that it's easy to forget there was an actual football game. I mean, what's a little round of pigskin between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots when Kylie Jenner's announcing the birth of her child, Justin Timberlake's wearing a camo suit, and Cardi B's starring in an Amazon Alexa commercial? But, yes, a real game did happen last night, and the Philadelphia Eagles came out victorious. They were the underdogs to win too, which is exciting if you care about that sort of thing.

Jennifer Lawrence definitely does. The Red Sparrow actress really wanted to send out good vibes about the Eagles yesterday—so much that she took over an airplane's intercom on Super Bowl Sunday and had the passengers do an Eagles chant.

Here's what happened: Lawrence was traveling on Sunday (February 4), seemingly on a public plane, and decided to keep the team's spirit alive by guiding the people on board through a classic Eagles mantra. "This not the pilot speaking; this is Jennifer Lawrence," Lawrence said on the plane loud speaker. "It's February 4. It's Super Bowl Sunday. We all know what that means! Can I please get a "Fly, Eagles! Fly"?

Admittedly, the people in first class didn't seem that amused, but you can hear some people chanting from the economy class section. Lawrence then quickly said a line from Bridesmaids—"There's a colonial woman on the plane!"—before the flight attendant took back over. Check out the video for yourself, below:

Why she did this is unclear. It's possible Lawrence is a huge Eagles fan, but it's also possible she's nodding to her 2012 film, Silver Linings Playbook, in which she plays someone whose love interest is a giant Eagles fan. (That love interest is Bradley Cooper, who's interestingly a huge Eagles supporter, from Philly IRLand was at the Super Bowl yesterday.) Either way, there's something very meta about these people chanting the word "fly" as they're flying, TBH. We applaud Lawrence for showing her support—even at 20,000 feet.
