Saquon Barkley has been working his way back all offseason long from an ACL tear he suffered last season, and his hard work looks to be paying off.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Giants OC Jason Garrett said the star running back is '100 percent' again.

"I think he's done a great job to get himself back healthy and 100 percent," Garrett said. "...Obviously, Saquon’s a special player and he’ll certainly get his opportunities. He too can really do anything we ask him to do.

"A lot of confidence in him as a player."

The Giants are set to face the Denver Broncos in Week 1, but while Barkley's status remains unclear, it's reassuring to hear that even if he misses Sunday's action, his return looks to be right around the corner.

"He's worked really, really hard to get back, to come back from a serious injury. He's done a great job and demonstrated great leadership about how you respond to adversity," Garrett added.

If Barkley can't go on Sunday, Garrett remained positive about the other guys in the running backs room and their abilities to get the job done in his absence,

"Oh, I think we have a lot of confidence in the guys we have, and we have a lot of confidence in Book (Devontae Booker)," Garrett said. "...As a coach, you're constantly trying to put your guys in favorable situations with things they can do, and we feel confident about any guy that we put in there."

Kickoff for Sunday's game is set for 4:25 p.m., so we have until then to really know who will be out there in the backfield for the new look Giants.
