Jarvis Landry will remain on IR and won’t play in Week 6

The Cleveland Browns will not get wide receiver Jarvis Landry back in the lineup for the Week 6 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Landry will remain on the team’s injured reserve list beyond Sunday’s late-afternoon tilt at FirstEnergy Stadium, per numerous sources.

Landry has not played since injuring his knee in Week 2. The Browns designated Landry to return from the IR list this week, which started the 21-day clock to get “Juice” back on the field. But after a couple of days of practices, the coaching and medical staff determined that Landry, the team’s leading receiver in each of the last three seasons, is not quite ready for action.

The team needed to activate Landry by 4 p.m. on Saturday for the wideout to play on Sunday. It does seem likely that Landry is back for the Week 7 matchup on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.
