James Franklin puts press conference on hold to watch Ohio State vs. Maryland
Penn State pulled out a 20-7 victory over Rutgers on Saturday, so one would think head coach James Franklin wants to finish his press conference quickly — right? Wrong.
Instead of fielding questions from reporters immediately, Franklin delayed his press conference to watch the end of the Ohio State-Maryland game.
But first, he’s going to watch the end of the Maryland-Ohio State matchup with a reporter. pic.twitter.com/C3nxlPRoqW

“No comment” about who he’s rooting for. But then Franklin screams “DONT DO THAT” after MD’s play. Franklin coached at UMD. pic.twitter.com/e2EIlX7ptg

Franklin was really into the game and for good reason — it was tied 45-45 late in regulation. Franklin also served as Maryland’s wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator from 2000-2004.
And even though he didn’t say who he was rooting for, it’s pretty obvious based on the video above that he wanted Maryland to pull off the upset. Unfortunately for Franklin, the Buckeyes knocked off the Terrapins, 52-51, in overtime.
