The worst-case scenario for the New Orleans Saints has happened. Jameis Winston was injured after Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White committed an illegal horse collar tackle to drag him down, with team trainers evaluating Winston’s right leg on the sidelines after it was awkwardly twisted.

Taysom Hill, the nominal backup quarterback, was unavailable while recovering from an Oct. 10 concussion. Rookie draft pick Ian Book has been a healthy scratch throughout the season. It put veteran reserve Trevor Siemian into the game.

This is a developing situation and we don’t know the extent of Winston’s injury, so stay tuned for updates.
